January 30: Opening Day Events
SIMPL Conference: Advancing Data Sharing Solutions
The SIMPL Conference opens the week with practical discussions about data sharing across Europe. This initiative works to develop an accessible "internal market for data" through three practical components:
- SIMPL-Open: Open source code for data infrastructure
- SIMPL-Live: Practical implementations of data sharing systems
- SIMPL-Labs: Research into new applications for data spaces
The project's first MVP is now part of the EuroCloud initiative, showing how open source approaches can address real-world challenges. Watch the streaming here
CHAOSScon: Understanding Open Source Impact
During CHAOSScon, Cailean Osborne will present a practical toolkit for measuring how public funding affects open source projects, including:

- Ways to measure community engagement
- Tools for evaluating long-term project success
The research provides concrete data about how funding influences open source development, useful for both project maintainers and organizations supporting open source work. Read the complete research findings here
