Linux Foundation Europe at Embedded World 2023🇩🇪
Linux Foundation Europe | 08 March 2023
Embedded World is around the corner. The embedded world Exhibition & Conference brings together the entire embedded community once a year in Nuremberg, Germany and provides a unique overview of the state-of-the-art in this versatile industry. Last year, more than 720 international exhibitors and 18,000+ visitors from all over the world met in the seven halls of the Nuremberg exhibition center from March 14-16.
At this year's Embedded World, participants can find various collaborative open source projects such as Automotive Grade Linux, RISC-V, and Zephyr Project, all of which are part of the Linux Foundation.
The Linux Foundation is a broad scope foundation hosting openly developed technologies across many segments.
The Automotive Grade Linux (AGL) platform is deployed in millions of production vehicles covering infotainment, telematics, autonomous driving, amongst others. Adopting a shared platform across the industry reduces fragmentation and allows auto manufacturers and suppliers to reuse the same code base, leading to rapid innovation and faster time-to-market for new products.
At Embedded World, the AGL booth will feature several infotainment and instrument cluster demos developed collaboratively by the community, as well as AGL demos by Amazon Web Services (AWS), EPAM, Igalia, Panasonic, Renesas, and VNC Automotive. Learn more about the AGL project by visiting their booth at Embedded World at Hall 4, Stand 4-171.
If your interest lies in open hardware, Linux Foundation Europe provides a neutral, trusted home for developers to collaborate on open hardware projects. Did you know the EU has recently launched a project called EPI (European Processor Initiative), a project aimed at developing a high performance, energy efficient processor based on RISC-V? Several EU countries have launched initiatives to promote open hardware and RISC-V.
In this area, delegates can experience the latest hardware, software, and tools delivering RISC-V based computing at the Embedded World 2023. At the RISC-V stand you can experience a two day program of talks in the Demo Theatre where the RISC-V sponsors address subjects including Android, autonomous cars, custom instructions, processor IP, operating systems, software development, security and verification. Learn more about RISC-V at Hall 4A, Stand 4A-620 at Embedded World.
A platform to facilitate collaboration must be commercially neutral, inclusive of all contributors, and governed such that all interests are fairly represented. Curious to know more? If you are looking for software for simple connected sensors, LED wearables, modems, and small wireless gateways, then you're in the right place. Stop by the Zephyr Project booth Hall 4-170 at Embedded World or learn more here.
If you do meet our teams at Embedded World, we hope you'll find inspiration to get involved, become part of our communities, and join us in helping to fulfill our mission. Don’t forget to tag us in your photos for a chance to be featured on our page!
And if you're not able to attend, stay in touch with Linux Foundation Europe’s efforts to accelerate the growth of thriving open collaborative efforts focused on challenges and opportunities of all European constituencies, from individuals to public and private sectors, while providing an on-ramp for European projects and companies to succeed and collaborate on a global scale.
